Evermore by Alyson Noel

After a horrible accident claims the lives of her family, sixteen-year old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her wat to avod human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school-but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.
Damen is gorgeous, exotic, and wealthy. He's the only onewho can silence the noise and random energy in her head-wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer strqight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more quetions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is-or what he is. The onlt thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

This was the first book that I read by Alyson Noel. She is an amazing writer. I felt like almost I could see Riley throughout the book. Ever wants her life back to the way that it was, with her family. She stays in her own little circle. Hides herself under hoodies, music, and sunglasses. No one else knows about her ability to read peoples mind and how they feel. Not even her best friends Haven and Miles. When Damen comes she knows something is different about him. He is mysterious and she wants to know more about him. But he doesn’t let her get to know him. He knows all these things about her. I love the connection between them. At first I didn’t get why Drina was also like trying to get close to Haven so that she could get to Ever. But in the end it all made sense. There are little hints along the way of what Damen is and what he wants with Ever. I would recommend this book to everyone. There is also a sequel to this called Blue Moon. And coming soon is Shadowland, which comes out November 17, 2009!
