After by Amy Efaw

Who would leave her own baby in the trash to die?

Certainly not someone like Devon-straight-A student, soccer player with Olympic dreams, more mature than her own mother. but desperation and panic drove her to do what most people can't imagine. Now Devon's in a juvenile detention center, charged with attempted murder. If she's tried as an adult, she faces life in prison.

Does Devon deserve that punishment? Your answer depends on whether you believe her story-that she didn't even know she was pregnant. Was she buried in a denial so deep that she was unable to register the seemingly obvious signs of pregnancy? Or were her actions the result of a more devious, premeditated plan?

I thought this book was phenomenal! Amy Efaw did an excellent job writing this book. I felt like i was with Devon in the pod watching Karma go through different moods, classes, and meetings with her lawyer Dom. Although i cant help but wonder what ended up happening to the baby. At first, i totally judged Devon and was like who can do this? And for her she didn't actually believe she was pregnant. She wanted to so much to be different from her mom. I like that fact that even though Karma annoys Devon she still cares about her. At moments, you sympathize for Devon and what shes going through. Especially her mom abandoning her. I don't know what i did if i was in that situation. This is an excellent book! Everyone should read it!
